Aldi recalls product containing baby potatoes

Aldi has recalled a product containing baby potatoes because it contains milk which is not mentioned on the label, presenting a possible health risk to those with an intolerance to milk.

Inspired Cuisine Baby Potatoes with Herbs and Butter has been recalled in the United Kingdom, Scotland and Wales, according to the U.K.-based Food Standards Agency.

The recall applies to the 385-gram, or 13.5-ounce, product with a use by date of April 12.

Point of sale notices will be displayed in retail stores selling the product, according to the agency. Customers who have bought the product and have an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk products should not eat it and instead return it to the store where it was purchased for a full refund.

In a statement, Aldi apologized to customers that the product “did not meet our normal high standards.”
