The United States Potato Board’s (USPB) 2014 annual meeting concluded on Thursday, March 13, with the election of Brett Jensen as the chairman of the USPB.
Jensen, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, succeeds Rob Davis, of Connell, Washington as USPB chairman.
USPB board members convened in Colorado Springs, Colo., on Tuesday for three days of spirited discussions about the potato industry. Discussions included funding for the Alliance of Potato Research and Education; approval of the .03 assessment rate for fiscal year (FY) 2015; approval of the FY 2012-2016 long range plan (LRP); preparations for the USPB’s 2017-2021 LRP; incorporation of a chip advisory panel; and areas of concern for genetic modification of potato varieties.
This was the first USPB annual meeting conducted under the leadership of new president and CEO Blair Richardson.
