Potatoes Australia has named Robbie Davis, a national potato industry and agribusiness figure, as its ambassador for World Potato Congress 2024.
The event will be held in Adelaide from June 23-26.
Davis, who resides on a grazing property in regional South Australia, serves on several boards. She has undergraduate and master’s degrees from the University of Adelaide, and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. Her past roles have included CEO of Potatoes South Australia.
As WPC ambassador, Davis will help promote the event on a global scale. Her responsibilities will include advocating for the importance of the World Potato Congress and its role in fostering collaboration, innovation and knowledge exchange within the potato industry. She will engage with industry value chain stakeholders including producers, processors, service providers and researchers, and with policy-makers to encourage participation and support for WPC.
“I am honored to be appointed as the Ambassador for the World Potato Congress 2024 in Adelaide,” Davis said in a news release. “This Congress represents a unique opportunity for the global potato community to come together, share knowledge and address the challenges facing the industry. I am committed to promoting the importance of this event and encouraging widespread participation. Together, we can make the World Potato Congress 2024 a resounding success.”
