Yara North America joins Potato Sustainability Alliance

As a member, Yara will work with growers, packers, processors, academia and other stakeholders to improve potato sustainability in the U.S. and Canada.

Crop nutrition leader Yara North America has joined the Potato Sustainability Alliance.

Founded in 1905 and rooted in Norway, Yara is a global market leader in crop nutrition and offers a wide range of products with production, sales and services, research and support operations in the Americas, Europe, Africa and Asia.

“With a multitude of tools and services, Yara offers insights into crop nutrition and other aspects of potato production that will help to advance sustainability” said Markus Braaten, Market Development Manager of Yara North America.

As a member of the Alliance, Yara will work with processors, packers, buyers, grower organizations, conservation groups, academia and other stakeholders, representing over $100 billion in combined revenue, to drive ongoing improvements in potato sustainability in the U.S. and Canada.

“Fostering collaboration across the value chain is an essential component of PSA,” said Laura Scandurra, executive director of the Potato Sustainability Alliance. “By joining our organization and partnering with our members and potato farmers, Yara can help catalyze opportunities for ongoing improvements.”
