Vanmark delivers compact hydrocutting system to Indian company

Industrial potato and produce processing equipment manufacturer Vanmark has built and delivered a compact hydrocutting system for a leading Indian company in the frozen fast-food sector.

The company manufactures products such as french fries, potato wedges and hash browns. A Vanmark spokesperson said the name of the company could not be disclosed.

The 20-foot system, which includes a pump, cutter and dewatering conveyor, was built and shipped from Vanmark’s Bengaluru, India, facility.

“Vanmark worked with this major supplier of frozen potato products to provide a compact hydrocutter system that will help them save time while meeting the growing demand for their products,” Veeresh Gowdru, Vanmark India general manager, said in a news release. “The Vanmark Compact Hydrocutter System provides high-quality cuts without feathering or breaking.”

The user-friendly system can process 1,000 to 5,000 pounds of product including potatoes, cucumbers and peppers per hour, according to Vanmark. The system can cut sticks, spears, wedges or core.

A video of the system in action is available online.

Vanmark is part of the Grote family of brands, which includes PFI. The company operates locations in Idaho and Iowa and a manufacturing and distribution center in India.

In December, Vanmark announced plans to stock parts for its machines at Grote’s facility in the Netherlands to better serve its EU customers.
