Potato industry members among those appointed to ag advisory committees

Members of a pair of potato industry organizations are part of the 130 representatives appointed by the USDA and U.S. Trade Representative’s Office to serve four-year terms on seven agricultural trade advisory committees, including the Agricultural Technical Advisory Committee for Trade in Fruits and Vegetables.

There are six Agricultural Technical Advisory Committees (ATAC) and an Agricultural Policy Advisory Committee (APAC). The new appointees join another 70 current members on the committees.

Kam Quarles, National Potato Council CEO, is a new member of the ATAC for Trade in Fruits and Vegetables, where he joins Matt Harris of the Washington State Potato Commission.

The NPC’s Jared Balcom is among the new APAC members representing the specialty crops industry.

New members of the ATAC for Trade in Fruits and Vegetables are:
