Pair of Potato Expo sessions to focus on artificial intelligence

Artificial intelligence will take center stage at the 2024 Potato Expo in Austin, Texas, with two sessions spotlight the technology’s role in the potato industry.

Executives from KUNGFU.AI will lead Spudding Innovation: The State of AI for the Potato Industry on Jan. 10. Ron Green, co-founder and chief technology officer, and Benjamin Herndon, chief strategy officer, will explore the topic from 12:50 p.m. until 1:20 p.m. in the Expo Hall’s Cultivation Theater.

Founded in 2018, KUNGFU.AI is a management consulting and engineering firm focused exclusively on AI.

From 2:50 p.m. until 3:20 p.m. in the Cultivation Theater, a panel will discuss the AI’s applications for food sorting. Chris Bryant, president of Smart Vision Works, will moderate The Amazing Capabilities of AI for Food Sorting and FM Detection with panelists Kirt Lillywhite, Smart Vision Works vice president of technology, and Curtis Koelling, Smart Vision Works vice president of product development and innovation.

Utah-based engineering consulting firm Smart Vision Works specializes in computer vision systems developed with advanced AI technology.

The 2024 Potato Expo will be held Jan. 10-11 at the Austin Convention Center. A full schedule of events is available online.
