Late blight resistant gene found

< 1 minute read

Researchers have found a gene that increases resistance against late blight disease.

A recent issue of Nature Plants said that researcher from Wageningen University in the Netherlands and the Sainsbury laboratory in Norwich, UK identified the receptor-like protein elicitin response in a South American wild potato, Solanum microdontum, which enhances resistance to late blight in potatoes.
