Europatat Congress to address potato industry challenges in May

The Europatat Congress will return to Brussels May 23-24. The annual event has become a platform to assess the state of the potato sector and to communicate priorities and challenges facing the industry in Europe and beyond.

Under the theme “European Potato Trade in 2030: a sector in transition,” this year’s event will focus on solutions to the main environmental, economic and social challenges facing the potato sector and traders in the coming years, according to a news release.

On May 23, Europatat’s five commissions (consumption potatoes, seed potatoes, sustainability, technical and regulatory issues, and RUCIP) will meet. On May 24, the Europatat General Assembly will take place in the morning, followed by a conference which will be open to the public.

On the eve of the European elections, the Europatat Congress will offer participants the opportunity to discuss industry concerns with European legislators and politicians and other sectorial colleagues.
