Washington State holding three pesticide disposal events during October

The Washington State Department of Agriculture Waste Pesticide Program will hold three pesticide disposal events during October. “Pesticides” include herbicides, insecticides, fungicides, rodenticides and other related chemicals that kill, mitigate, or repel a pest

The events are scheduled for:

  • Prosser, Oct. 22-23
  • Othello, Oct. 24
  • Yakima, Oct. 29

Those wishing to dispose of pesticides at the event must sign-up by Sept. 17.

To participate, go to the Waste Pesticide webpage at agr.wa.gov/wastepesticide, and click on Apply for Free Pesticide Disposal, where the inventory form and instructions document can be downloaded. Email the completed form to WSDA at [email protected], fax to 360-902-2093 or mail to the address on the form by Sept. 17.

In addition, those wishing to dispose of pesticides may call 360-902-2056 to sign up or ask for assistance. All who contact WSDA and submit a disposal inventory will be notified by program staff and given further instructions about the collection events.  Read the complete announcement about the events on this WSU Extension webpage.

Collection events are scheduled based in part upon pre-determined customer interest. You can now apply any time throughout the year to participate in these free of charge collection events. Go to the website and/or contact the Waste Pesticide Program whenever you have a disposal need.
