BPIA now accepting award nominations

The Biological Products Industry Alliance (BPIA) is accepting nominations for its BPIA 2017 Volunteer of the Year Award, and its BPIA 2017 Member of the Year Award. The BPIA 2017 Awards will be presented during the BPIA 2017 Fall Meeting in Orlando, Florida on October 10, 2017. All nominations are due by June 9, 2017. Please submit nominations here.

Many BPIA member companies supply crop protectant inputs for the potato industry. At Potato Expo 2017 in San Francisco, California, BPIA Executive Director Keith Jones said there has been exciting growth of the biological products industry and many of the new biopesticide and biostimulant products becoming available are specifically for potato growers.

Nominations may be made by individuals, BPIA member companies, or other organizations. Nominations made after the submission deadline will not be considered. All nominations will be reviewed by the BPIA Membership committee, which will recommend the award recipients to the BPIA Board of Directors for approval.

The BPIA Volunteer of the Year Award will be considered based on the following criteria:

• An individual who works at a BPIA member company, someone who exemplifies what it means to be a BPIA volunteer, or
• Someone who has demonstrated a personal commitment to advancing the mission of BPIA through their efforts on a BPIA committee or in some other volunteer work on behalf of BPIA, or
• Someone who achieved an identifiable result on behalf of the biological products industry through their volunteer work or led other BPIA volunteers to collectively achieve such an accomplishment in the past year.
• Current BPIA Board members are not eligible for this award.

The judging criteria for the BPIA Member of the Year Award is:

• Nominees must be a BPIA member company,
• A company that exemplifies what it means to be a BPIA member company, or
• A BPIA member company that demonstrated a company-wide commitment to advancing the mission of BPIA through work on BPIA committees or in some other work on behalf of BPIA, or
• A BPIA member company that achieved an identifiable result on behalf of the biological products industry through its efforts during the past year.
• To be eligible for this award, member dues must be current.
