On Tuesday night Prince Edward Island potato farmers who grow for Cavendish Farms approved a new contract with the company.
Greg Donald, general manager of the P.E.I. Potato Board, would not provide details of the agreement because negotiations are ongoing with McCain Foods and its growers.
