World Potato Congress announces new Board members

The World Potato Congress (WPC) announced three new appointments to its Board of Directors and International Committee. David Thompson, president and CEO of WPC announced the appointments of Peter VanderZaag and John Jamieson to the Board of Directors. André Jooste has been appointed to the International Advisory Committee.

Vanderzaag is president of of SunRise Potato in Ontario, Canada. His appointment fills a vacant seat formerly filled by Hubert Zandstra. Vanderzaag will track and report on potato related issues throughout East Asia and China.

Jamieson, deputy minister of the Prince Edward Island Department of Agriculture and Fisheries, fills the vacant seat of former deputy John MacQuarrie. Jamieson is responsible for directing activities on a diverse range of agriculture industry priorities including policy implementation, government relations and regulatory matters.

Jooste, CEO of Potatoes South Africa, fills the vacancy created by the retirement of Dr. Ben Pieterse.
