Webinar to provide information on applying for federal research program

A webinar focusing on applying for the USDA’s Research Facilities Act Program is set for Thursday. National Institute of Food and Agriculture staff will lead the webinar, which begins at 2 p.m.

RFAP is designed to assist in the construction, alteration, acquisition, modernization, renovation, or remodeling of an agricultural research facility to enhance the institution’s long-term impact on food and agricultural research. The webinar will focus on the program’s request for applications and general guidelines for 2023.

The research facility to be modified must expand the institution’s capacity for long-term, impactful research and must be the result of thorough strategic planning, according to NIFA’s website.

Awards may be used to fund the construction of buildings or sites for agricultural research facilities or other structures that store experimental samples or specimens, as well as the purchase of real estate or equipment.

Webinar registration is available online.
