Washington state labor dept. offers free consultations

The Washington State Department of Labor and Industries (WSDL&I) Division of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) offers no-fee consultation to establish or strengthen workplace safety and health programs for the asking.  The WSDL&I consultants provide advice and do not issue penalties or fines from a consultation visit, nor do they report findings or interact with the Compliance side of WSDL&I. However, serious hazards must be corrected within a specific time.

A typical consultation visit includes an opening conference, followed by a walk-through, noting any safety issues, then wraps up with another conference to discuss the visit. Following the visit, a written report is sent to the grower.  This free service, if provided by a paid consultant, would cost thousands of dollars.  For more information or to schedule a consultation go here.
