May 14, 2020Vive Crop Protection fungicide receives rare distinction from McCain Foods
Potato processing giant McCain Foods USA included Xyler FC, a metalaxyl-based fungicide from Vive Crop Protection, in its contracts with Columbia Basin growers this year.
According to a Vive representative, Ridomil Gold was previously the only product McCain included in its Columbia Basin contracts.
Xyler FC fertilizer-compatible fungicide provides the same disease control — pythium, phytophthora, storage diseases — as other metalaxyl products, but where it differs is in the ease of use. It mixes well with various fertilizers and types of water, allowing farmers to use less water during application, resulting in fewer stops to fill up. It provides cost and time savings by eliminating the need for blending/compatibility agents and also allows for application of multiple products at the same time.
“Xyler FC is really easy to use in chemigation or aerial application setups,” said Jonathan Adamson, regional sales manager at Vive. “Potato growers across the country will appreciate its convenience while providing the same level of control (as other metalaxyl products).”
Xyler FC is one of five fertilizer-compatible products for potatoes available from Vive Crop Protection.
