Valmont buys majority stake in Torrent Engineering and Equipment

Valmont Industries recently has acquired a majority interest in Indiana-based Torrent Engineering and Equipment. Torrent founders Joe Cousins and Mark Meadows will continue to lead Torrent as co-presidents.

“Irrigation systems are becoming increasingly complex, and we look forward to being part of those solutions,” said Meadows.

Founded in 2001, Torrent designs and delivers high-pressure water and compressed air process systems around the world. Their new 25,000-square-foot facility in Warsaw, Indiana, allows for turn-key fabrication and on-site deployments.

Torrent’s design and engineering experience includes large pumping systems, and they serve the snow making, irrigation, municipal and mining sectors. Some of their recent projects have included deploying artificial snow for the last three Winter Olympics, including the 2018 Games in Pyeongchang, South Korea, and for large ski resorts.
