USPB Retail Program Accepting Nominations

< 1 minute read
The United States Potato Board (USPB) Retail Program continues to offer fresh suppliers the opportunity to nominate their retailer for participation in a USPB-driven program. Each year, USPB offers the Retail Outreach Presentation, a one-time, interactive, face-to-face meeting with key produce decisionmakers including:

-A free potato category data analysis including the retailer’s competitive rest-of-market.
-Recommendations across the category best practices – tested and proven to increase sales and profits
-Updated potato consumer information and trends.
-An overview of programs and opportunities available through the USPB.
-At the end of the presentation, both the retailer and supplier will know several ways to improve the potato category in their chain, serving as a springboard for future work together.

Since July 1, 2009, the following retailers have been nominated for this presentation:

SuperValu, Minneapolis
Food Lion, Charlotte, N.C.
Ralph’s, Los Angeles
Super Target, Minneapolis
Roundy’s, Milwaukee, Wis.

Retailers nominated must be substantial enough in size that AC Nielsen is collecting their scanner sales data for use in this meeting. General guidelines include having at least $2 million in sales per year, for the chain, and that they are not a club store or Wal-Mart.

To nominate your retailer, call Carroll Graham, director of retail programs, at 303-369-7783 or e-mail carrollg@uspotatoes.com.
