A new Specialty Crops Resource Directory compiled by the USDA aims to provide a comprehensive resource for specialty crop producers and businesses.
The directory, launched Nov. 9, stems from a USDA review of its current services and programs supporting the specialty crop industry, according to a news release.
The directory (.pdf) is part of the organization’s efforts to further support U.S. specialty crop producers.
The agency will hold a series of roundtables and other opportunities seeking industry stakeholder feedback during the next several months. The sessions are targeted at helping the USDA better address gaps in services.
USDA also encourages U.S. specialty crops stakeholders to submit comments on how the department can better support and meet the needs of the industry. To submit a comment, visit the Request for Information posted in the Federal Register. Comments are due by March 8, 2024.
A new specialty crops-dedicated webpage designed to provide information on the initiative is available at online at www.usda.gov/specialty-crops.
