USDA estimates 2019 potato crop at 422.45 million cwt, down 6%
As usual, Idaho and Washington led the U.S. in potato production in 2019, followed by Wisconsin, Oregon and North Dakota.
Data compiled by the United States Department of Agriculture’s National Agricultural Statistics Service’s (USDA-NASS) regional offices estimates that U.S. potato production will total 422.45 million cwt for 2019.

That would be a 6.1% decrease from the 2018 total of 450.02 recognized by the USDA. Here are the top 10 states and how estimated production compares to last year.
