T-L Irrigation represents Nebraska at White House event with center pivot on South Lawn
July is Smart Irrigation Month, an initiative by the Irrigation Association. T-L Irrigation was included in a Made in America event at the White House.
T-L Irrigation, a center pivot manufacturer located in Hastings, Nebraska, represented the Nebraska at the event. For its display, T-L constructed a section of center pivot made in Nebraska on the South Lawn of the White House.
As the industry celebrates Smart Irrigation Month throughout July, spotlighting irrigation during Made in America was a perfect complement to the other efforts happening throughout the month to recognize and promote the benefits associated with smart and efficient irrigation.
Including an irrigation manufacturer at this year’s Made in American showcase expands upon the message of the importance of efficient irrigation in a meeting with White House representatives held this past March during the IA’s annual Washington, D.C., fly-in. This year’s fly-in brought irrigation leaders from across the country to Capitol Hill to meet with congressional office and White House staff to discuss issues currently affecting the irrigation industry. These discussions helped promote irrigation’s role in U.S. manufacturing and how our strong and thriving industry benefits all of America.
“When my mom and dad started this company 65 years ago, they would have never imagined the T-L pivot being on the lawn of the White House,” said Dave Thom, president of T-L Irrigation. “I’m sure they’d be very proud, just like all our workers here are proud of it. It’s just a nice honor. We really appreciate it.”
