Three informative potato-focused webinars are now available to be watched for free through Spudman’s website.

The three webinars, which comprised SpudWeek, were recorded June 28-30, but remain available for viewing at any time. They include:

Potato Sustainability Alliance. Executive Director John Mesko presents on the sustainability alliance’s mission and steps its taking to achieve its goals. Following the presentation, Mesko and Spudman Editorial Director Zeke Jennings have a follow-up discussion on sustainability and the potato industry.

Managing Weight Loss While in Storage. Industrial Ventilation’s Ragen Darrington breaks down why and how potatoes lose weight while in storage, and what growers can do to minimize the risks, both during the growing season and while in storage. Darrington also fields numerous questions from the audience.

Research Roundtable Discussion. Three of the potato industry’s premier university Extension researchers — Amanda Gevens (University of Wisconsin), Andy Robinson (North Dakota State University/University of Minnesota) and Mike Thornton (University of Idaho) — participate in a candid discussion on a variety of topics, including early blight, fertilizer timing, field trials, examining how smoke could affect potato plants and much more.
