Side Delights launches microwaveable petite potato line

A new line of microwaveable petite potato products from Fresh Solutions Network’s Side Delights is now shipping.

Flavorables are designed to meet growing consumer demand for quick and flavorful side dishes, according to a news release. Pairing one pound of petite potatoes with premium dry seasoning blends from the Spiceology line of flavors, Flavorables can be microwaved in five minutes, according to the release.

“Flavorables was created to make potatoes quicker to prepare while delivering the bold flavors consumers are seeking on restaurant menus,” Kathleen Triou, president and CEO of Fresh Solutions Network (FSN), said in a news release. “Consumer research consistently shows that potato buyers over-index for convenience and seek products that reduce prep time without sacrificing flavor or variety, and we’re giving retailers a turn-key side dish solution that drives convenience, excitement, and incremental growth.”

Each package includes a recyclable tray of petite potatoes with Spiceology seasonings in one of four flavor options: Greek Freak, Butter-licious Garlic & Herb, Cheese Pizza and Garlic Parmesan. 

 “Restaurant data continues to show strong consumer interest in Mediterranean flavors, indulgent cheese-forward dishes and garlic-centric profiles,” Spiceology CEO Darby McLean said. “Flavorables will translate these trends into an accessible retail format with our ground-fresh seasonings with no artificial flavors or fillers.”

FSN, the exclusive supplier of Side Delights potatoes and onions, is a group of family-owned potato and onion growers and shippers.

Last January, the Amazables! microwavable potato product with recyclable film from Side Delights won the Joe Nucci Award for Product Innovation recognizing advancement in product, packaging and process.
