Side Delights debuts new organic russet product

Fresh Solutions Network will be launching its new Side Delights Farmer’s Table Organic Russet single wrapped, microwaveable potato – a line extension to the Farmer’s Table Organic potato line up. The launch will take place at the Organic Produce Summit trade show, July 12-13, in Monterey, California. The sold-out exposition features 120 producers of organic fresh fruits and vegetables, and more than 75 key retail/buying organizations will be attending.

Organic products are now available in nearly three out of four conventional grocery stores, and often carry price premiums. Organic potato growth outpaces the total category driven by expansion of items offered, and experienced a 17.8 percent increase in distribution over last year.

“The organic foods category continues to grow, and potatoes are a sweet spot,” said Kathleen Triou, president and CEO of Fresh Solutions Network. “Our microwaveable organic single potato will appeal to both organic shoppers and m,illennials, who have become an increasingly important consumer base.”

Side Delights Farmers Table Potatoes are 100 percent, non-GMO, USDA- and state-certified organic. The full Farmer’s Table line also includes designs for Red, Yellow and Russet varieties of potatoes, available in Paper bag (3 lb. and 5 lb.), and Poly bag (3 lb). Packaging for distribution in Canada (bi-lingual in English and French) is also available.
