Proposal could help Pennsylvania growers

< 1 minute read

Proposed legislation could remove a regulatory burden on Pennsylvania potato growers.

Currently, state law requires potatoes be packaged for sale in containers weighing 3 lbs., 5 lbs., 10 lbs., 15 lbs., 20 lbs., 25 lbs., 50 lbs., 100 lbs. and multiples of 100 lbs.

Legislation introduced by Sen. David Argall would allow potatoes to be packaged without weight restrictions.
