Feb 4, 2019Produce Marketing Association adds role of chief content officer
The Produce Marketing Association (PMA) has named its first chief content officer. Dan Stark joined the organization in January 2019 and will be responsible for providing leadership to the organization’s marketing, communications and education efforts.
“We are thrilled to have Dan join our team,” PMA CEO Cathy Burns said. “His experience in digital transformation and content delivery will further enhance the value PMA provides to our members and the industry year-round.”
Stark’s hiring comes at a time where PMA is seeking to bring the industry to the world at large. “He will ensure that the stories of the produce and floral industries are at the forefront of the conversations the world is having around food, floral and culture,” Burns added.
Stark comes to PMA with diverse experience across the nonprofit sector, with a focus on technology, innovation, and governance. In past roles, Stark has led product strategy for a software development company providing an association management system and has served as principal at a consulting firm promoting operational excellence. He also brings association experience as former executive director of the American Public Gardens Association. Reporting to Burns, he will be responsible for global strategic leadership to enhance the content and communications for and on behalf of our industry members.
“The evolution of digital channels has given us unlimited tools to share and consume information,” Stark said. “It is my goal to help PMA serve our members as a trusted voice for and on behalf of our industry. I look forward to working with the team at PMA and with our members.”
