Potatoes USA welcomes 9 chefs to culinary event

Potatoes USA recently hosted a three-day ChefLab event, welcoming nine culinary professionals from restaurants and manufacturers across the country to its Spud Lab in Denver.

The program, in partnership with the National Watermelon Promotion Board and Lentils.org,  explored consumer and food trends expected to shape 2026 while addressing industry challenges and goals, according to a news release.

Attendees also sampled dishes and beverages combining potatoes, watermelon and lentils in creative ways. Educational sessions demonstrated how different formats can be incorporated into commercial kitchens.

The event included a culinary tour of Denver, with chefs dining at restaurants ranging from a Native American fast-casual concept to Filipino cuisine.

Participants also brainstormed new dishes and used technology to generate visual concepts and discussed opportunities for continued collaboration.
