The MyPlate national strategic partner team recognized Potatoes USA with the Gold MyPlate Champion Achievement for participating in the MyPlate national strategic partnership and promoting MyPlate to important audiences.
Launched in 2011, MyPlate symbolizes the five food groups and is a visual reminder to choose a variety of foods. It also represents what and how much to eat from each food group over the course of the day.
Potatoes USA created informational handouts for health care professionals to help educate patients on healthy eating habits and how to incorporate nutritious vegetables such as potatoes into their diets, according to a news release.
As part of the MyPlate partnership, recipes from PotatoGoodness.com are expected to be featured on MyPlate Kitchen, a tool to help consumers ensure that half their plates contain fruits and vegetables.
