Jul 24, 2020Potatoes USA’s International Marketing Committee talks export numbers
Potatoes USA, the marketing arm of the U.S. potato industry, is holding its annual summer meetings through a series of virtual events.

On July 23, the International Marketing Committee held its meeting. The committee oversees the foodservice, retail, ingredient, consumer, market access, and seed potato export marketing programs. The committee is focused on increasing U.S. potato exports across all product types, expanding access for U.S. potatoes across the globe, and for ensuring international consumers and trade members know U.S. potatoes for their nutritional benefits.
The International Marketing Committee is currently co-chaired by Ed Staunton of Staunton Farms LP in Tuelake, California, and Steve Streich of Streich and Associates in Kalispell, Montana.
Spudman editor Zeke Jennings sat through the meeting and posted updates via Twitter. Here are a few highlights.
In addition, Potatoes USA also announced a new “Buy U.S.” international marketing campaign that will feature visual branding that highlights U.S. agriculture. Look for more details on that in the coming months.
