Apr 20, 2016Potatoes USA chef nominee wins United Fresh award
Chef Oliver Plust, chef and part owner of Tender Greens restaurant, is the award winner of the 2016 Quick Service Restaurants category of the United Fresh Produce Excellence in Foodservice awards program, based on the nomination by Potatoes USA. Plust attended the board’s sponsored Menu Innovation with Potatoes” chef training seminar at the Culinary Institute of America Greystone campus, last October. He has since been working on a number of innovative new potato dishes for use in his restaurant chain, Potatoes USA said.
United Fresh will cover Plust’s travel and lodging costs to attend the 2016 United Fresh Convention in Chicago June 21-22. At the convention, winners and accompanying nominators will participate in an award winner orientation program and sponsor dinner. They will speak in a panel discussion session on the United Fresh show floor and will be formally awarded June 22 at the United Fresh Retail-Foodservice Celebration Dinner.
Tender Greens is a casual eatery with locations throughout southern California and now San Francisco, serving fresh, healthy, chef-inspired dishes.
