Plans for Pocatello potato processing facility back on

Plans to complete a 280,000-square foot refrigerated warehouse that will house a potato processing facility in Pocatello, Idaho, are back on.

According to a report by the Post Register’s John O’Connell, the warehouse, which will be located at Poctatello Regional Airport, will process about 153 million pounds of locally sourced potatoes in frozen fries and dehydrated flakes. The company that will process those potatoes remains unknown, however.

Frigitek broke ground on the facility a year ago, but construction stalled, likely due COVID-19 complications. A representative from Frigitek said funding has come through and the construction should be completed in a “few weeks.”

See the Post Register’s story here for the full report.
