HZPC newest member of Potato Sustainability Alliance

The newly formed Potato Sustainability Alliance (PSA) has announced the addition of HZPC Americas Corp. as its newest member.

As an active member of PSA — which was created to expand on the mission of the former Potato Sustainability Initiative — HZPC will work together with other member companies, grower organizations, conservation groups, academia, public sector partners and other stakeholders, representing over $100 billion in combined revenue, to continue improving potato sustainability in the U.S. and Canada.

Founded in 1898 and rooted in the Netherlands, HZPC has grown to become a global market leader in seed potato trading, innovative breeding and concept development. HZPC offers innovative potato varieties that are optimized for local growing conditions. With over 400 employees across 19 countries, and exports to over 90 countries, HZPC contributes to the availability of responsible food for the well-being of millions of people worldwide.

“We are very excited to have HZPC join us in this important work and look forward to collaborating with them as we seek to accelerate the scale and impact of PSA’s sustainability program,” said Laura Scandurra, executive director, PSA.  “Fostering collaboration across the value chain is an essential component of PSA.  By joining our organization and partnering with our members and potato farmers, HZPC can help catalyze opportunities for ongoing improvement in potato sustainability.”
