Presentations included a session on the importance of sustained research funding from Mark Pavek, professor and potato specialist at Washington State University; a dialogue with Washington Rep. Mary Dye and Idaho Rep. and prior NPC president Britt Raybould on the challenges and opportunities of representing agriculture communities on the state level; and a discussion of bridging the rural-urban policy divide with Derek Sandison, Washington’s Director of Agriculture.

“It was a privilege to welcome the industry to my adopted second home of Coeur d’Alene,” Tschirky said in a statement.

“Thanks to all the sponsors from Washington, Idaho and across the country for their support of this important meeting for our industry.”
