NIFA accepting applications for potato breeding research grant program

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s National Institute of Food and Agriculture is accepting applications for a potato breeding research grant program until May 18.

The program supports potato (Solanum tuberosum L.) research and Extension programs that focus on varietal development and testing to create improved potato varieties for commercial production using conventional breeding and/or biotechnological genetics.

Aspects of evaluation, screening and testing must support variety development.
