Dec 5, 2024Newly introduced micro-sprinkler recognized with innovation award
Irrigation products manufacturer and provider Rain Bird Agriculture has introduced a new micro-sprinkler aimed at bolstering both young and mature plants.
The Micro Bird Jet, developed in partnership with growers across North America, features a reversible deflector with two watering patterns, according to a news release. For example, customers can start with a 3-foot “E” pattern for plant establishment and change to a larger “A” pattern as the root zone grows, according to the company.
The micro-sprinkler’s durable construction includes a sturdy stake designed for long-term stability and performance, and its snap-fit assembly helps ensure reliable watering.

The Micro Bird Jet was named a winner in the EIMA (International Agricultural and Gardening Machinery Exhibition) 2024 Technical Innovation Competition in Bologna, Italy, in October. The contest recognizes industry innovations that improve quality, productivity and environmental sustainability.
“Micro Bird Jet is the result of remarkable engineering guided by close collaboration with leading growers,” Greg Palumbo, Rain Bird director of agriculture, said in the release.
“We aimed to create a rugged and simple-to-use micro-sprinkler that consistently delivers water precisely where the plants need it, and we are proud to hear from customers that we have hit the mark.
“This achievement is the culmination of a team effort to provide a simple, durable and highly effective micro-sprinkler solution for growers.”
