New line of threads offers way to show Michigan potato love

Do you love Michigan potatoes? OK, but can you prove it?

Fans of the state spuds now have a way to broadcast their affection without saying a word. The Michigan Potato Industry Commission (MPIC) is partnering with Big Frog of Brighton to create a line of logoed apparel and merchandise.

Shirts, jackets, hats, tumblers, mugs and backpacks are available online for purchase in multiple color and style options.

“We get a lot of requests for our logo on all sorts of items,” Kelly Turner, MPIC executive director, said in a news release. “This a way for folks to be able to shop a bigger variety of Michigan Potatoes branded items.”

MPIC, which is allowing Big Frog to use its logo for the items, does not handle any of the sales, nor does it receive any proceeds, according to the release.
