National Potato Council’s new logo reflects ‘Standing Up for Potatoes on Capitol Hill’

In only the third time in its 74year history, the National Potato Council (NPC) today released a new logo that better reflects its public policy focus and roots in Washington, D.C. The former shield logo is replaced with a modern graphic depiction of the iconic Capitol Building emerging from green potato fields, representing the farms supported and the potato growers who direct the memberled organization.

According to NPC CEO Kam Quarles, “Our goal was to refresh our brand to better reflect who we represent and what we do: Stand Up for Potatoes on Capitol Hill. The new logo will also clearly differentiate the National Potato Council from other industry organizations and better align us with national agriculture peers making an impact in D.C.”

Jared Balcom, the 2022 NPC president and potato grower from Pasco, Washington, added, “As we move into the new year and begin work with a new Congress, NPC’s leadership has never been more important to the future of our industry and the family farms we represent. Whether it’s the farm bill, trade opportunities, pushing back against overregulation, addressing inflation or finding labor solutions, the National Potato Council fights to ensure that potato growers priorities are reflected in our nation’s capital. This new look for NPC clearly aligns with that mission.

The new logo will roll out in early this month on the National Potato Council website, social media and collateral materials, as well as on NPC merchandise. Growers and industry partners will also see the new branding for the first time at two major events hosted by NPC: Potato Expo 2023 (Jan. 4-5 in Colorado) and the NPC Washington Summit (Feb. 27-March 3 in Washington, D.C).
