MPB announces 2016 Farm Family of the Year

The Maine Potato Board (MPB) of directors selected the family of Jerry Flewelling and his son, Bruce Flewelling, of Easton, as the MPB 2016 Farm Family of the Year.
The Flewelling family includes Bruce, his wife Valorie and their sons, Nicholas and Christopher. Jerry Flewelling, although semi-retired, helps load potatoes, drives trucks and combining grain.
They grow 900 acres of potatoes for McCains and Frito-Lay.
Nicholas and Christopher represent the sixth generation of Flewellings to farm in Easton. The first Flewellings arrived from Wales in the late 1800s, entering the United States through Riviere de Chute, Canada, which borders Easton.
