Michigan seed potato grower Richard Skogman, of Skogman Seed Farm, died Aug. 23 at age 62.
Skogman was fourth generation to own and operate the family farm that he and his wife worked on together.
Richard’s son, Matt Skogman, is the current operator of Skogman Seed Farm, located in Dickinson County in the Upper Peninsula, and a member of the Michigan Potato Industry Commission.
“Richard was an industrious and resourceful seed grower, and we will miss his wisdom, friendship and contributions to our group,” Damen Kurzer, director of the Michigan Seed Potato Association, said in a news release.
