Jun 17, 2019Jared Balcom to rep potato industry on agricultural advisory committee
Jared Balcom has been named the latest potato industry representative to the Agricultural Policy Advisory Committee (APAC). Balcom, of Pasco, Washington, is currently the vice president of trade affairs for the National Potato Council.
The APAC’s primary responsibility is to provide agriculture industry input to the Secretary of Agriculture and the United States Trade Representative regarding U.S. trade policy.
“Its an honor to be named to represent our export-dependent industry on APAC. It is a volatile time for trade policy, making this type of input and advice more important than ever,” Balcom said in an NPC statement.
Balcom joins 32 other CEOs, association executives and trade experts on the committee. Previously, Dan Moss of Idaho served on APAC for the potato industry.
