One supported program is the Construction Combine, a two-day event that provides a mix of classroom instruction and hands-on experience. Students will learn from industry professionals while putting skills into practice by building sheds that are donated to veterans in need.

Idaho Steel welding experts Jay Bowman and Jared Bleak are leading the hands-on training, while Heidi Oyola, Idaho Steel human resource director, is serving as an advisor for the Workforce Training division of College of Eastern Idaho.

“We take pride in supporting local education and workforce development initiatives,” Oyola said in a news release. “Investing in the future of our industry and the skilled trades that power it is essential.

“We’re excited to partner with the College of Eastern Idaho and showcase the opportunities available in the trades to recruit the next generation of talented professionals.”
