New HZPC Americas product manager will work closely with growers

HZPC Americas has added a product manager to its team in Canada. Pedro Selegato will work to help North America potato farmers integrate HZPC’s germplasm into their operations.

Selegato, with ag industry experience ranging from hybrid corn seed production research to large-scale farming management, will work with growers, processors and packers to perform field trials tailored to their needs and conditions, according to a news release.

Insights gained will help guide HZPC breeding programs and variety positioning in different growing conditions throughout North America, according to the release.

Selegato, with a degree in agronomic engineering, has also worked in supply chain management with large ag tech startups. Collaborations with potato processors and breeders drew him to the potato industry, according to the release.

Founded in 1898 and headquartered in the Netherlands, seed potato trader, breeder and developer HZPC has around 400 employees in 16 countries and exports product to more than 90 nations, according to its website.
