HZPC Americas Corp. has added an experienced potato industry veteran to its North American team.
Eric Norton has more than 15 years of experience in seed production, variety development and breeding nursery management. He holds a master’s degree in agronomy from the University of Arizona.
“We’re very excited to have Eric join our team. He brings a wealth of experience and knowledge of seed production and variety development from the grain industry, and we are happy to bring his unique perspectives into our growing team of seed potato professionals,” Aron Derbidge, president of HZPC Americas Corp., said in a news release. “Eric will be collaborating directly with our licensed seed growers and dealers to ensure our new potato varieties are meeting the needs of North American potato growers and to help them achieve the next level of success.”
Norton’s addition brings the HZPC Americas team to eight members in the U.S. and Canada.
“I’m very excited to join the HZPC Americas Corp. team. I was raised on a family farm in southeast Arizona (and) I look forward to bringing my experiences from the small grain cereal crops sector into the potato industry,” Norton said. “As HZPC celebrates its 125th anniversary this year, I’m excited to join their worldwide team at this time. Their rich traditions, dedication to the potato segment growth, and excellence in research, breeding and seed production are all things that I’m happy to be a part of as we develop our dealer network in North America.”
Founded in 1898 in the Netherlands, HZPC is an international market leader in potato breeding, seed potato trading and product concept development with around 400 employees in 16 countries and exports to more than 90 countries.
