Global Potato Summit 2025 recognizes international industry excellence

The Global Potato Summit 2025, held Dec. 11-12 in Delhi, India, highlighted international industry excellence and supply chain contributions.

Sachidanand Madan, summit organizer and former advisor at ITC Limited, received the Lifetime Achievement Award for his decades-long contributions to policy shaping, industry integration and institutional leadership. Manohar Lal Agarwal, Haldiram Snacks chair and managing director, received the Global Leadership Award in Potato Processing Innovation.

Global Potato Summit logoThe event, featuring exhibitions, conferences and farm demonstrations, also recognized women leaders. Indira Laxman Dhume, general manager (seed production) for Mahindra HZPC, received the Women in Potato Seed Excellence Award, while the Women in Potato Processing Excellence Award went to Bhavana Viswanath, director of Kiremko Food Processing.

Industry excellence

Technico Agri Sciences received the Potato Seed Industry Excellence Award as well as the Community Impact & Rural Development Award. Balaji Wafers, led by Chandubhai Virani, received the Chips Industry Leadership Award.

Iscon Balaji Foods Pvt. Ltd. was recognized with the Frozen Potato Products Leadership Award, while HyFun Foods Pvt. Ltd. received the Frozen Potato Products Export Pioneer Award. The Flakes Industry Pioneer Award was presented to Crown Flakes Pvt. Ltd.

India’s growing strength in fresh potato exports was recognized through the Fresh Potato Export Excellence Award, presented to M S International Pvt. Ltd., while innovation in varieties and seed development was celebrated with awards to Meijer Potato for Lady Rosetta, CPRI for Kufri Jyoti and STET Holland for Santana.

Cultivation tech advancement also took center stage, with HyFarm receiving the Innovative Technology in Potato Cultivation Award. Shaktiman–GRIMME Root Crop Solutions Pvt. Ltd. received the Potato Farm Mechanization Innovation & Leadership Award.

Survir Agritech Pvt. Ltd. was named Emerging Company of the Year.

Recognizing farmers

Jitesh Patel of Gujarat was named Potato Farmer of the Year, while GreenFay Farm Foods received the Farm-to-Fork Excellence Award.

Potato Farmer Excellence Awards were presented to Shilpa Ben Dilip Bhai Patel, Rakesh Bhai Patel, Harjinder Sandhu, Bhavjit Singh, Arvinder Singh, Sukhvinder Singh, Ashok Patidar, Ashok Bhai Lakhu Bhai Patel, P. Singh Khosa, and Krishna Pandit.

Tanuj Pant from Technico Agri Sciences Pvt. Ltd. received the Potato Agronomy Excellence Award, highlighting collaboration between farmers and industry.
