Farmer’s union supports mandatory GMO labeling

The National Farmers Union (NFU) reiterated support for federal legislation requiring mandatory labeling of food products containing genetic modified organisms at its annual convention.
The NFU opposes a voluntary labeling standard proposed in federal legislation by Rep. Mike Pompeo (R-Kansas).
On the NFU website, Roger Johnson, president of the NFU, said that his organizations supports mandatory labeling for food products throughout the processing chain.”
