Apr 14, 2023Europatat Congress to examine potato trade, consumption trends
The first Polish edition of the Europatat Congress will focus on the impact of the geopolitical landscape on the potato trade.
The event, slated for June 6 in Gdansk, Poland, will examine the effect of the European Union’s Green Deal as well as new consumption trends inside and outside Europe.

Issues such as high energy prices, climate change, increased regulatory requirements and trade barriers, and new agriculture techniques are also on the agenda.
The opening session of the congress will feature notable guest speakers such as Tigran Richter, president of Europatat; Tomasz Bienkoswki, president of the Polish Potato Federation; and a representative from the Polish Ministry of Agriculture and Rural development.

A panel including Antonina Skliarenko, president of the Community of Pulse
Producers and Customers of Ukraine; Geoffroy d’Evry, president of North European Potatoes Growers and Union Nationale des Producteurs de Pommes de Terre; Jörg Renatus, managing director of Europlant International, and Jarosław Wańkowicz, supply chain director at Farm Frites Poland SA, will discuss
how the changing geopolitical landscape is affecting agri-food trade in general and potato trade specifically.
Berta Redondo Benito, Europatat secretary general, will close the event.
