Mashed potato company Idahoan and the Idaho Potato Commission have launched a contest to celebrate National Potato Day on Aug. 19.

The social media recipe contest invites mashed potato fans to show how Idahoan mashed potatoes can be more than a side dish by creating a meal with mashed potatoes as the star of the plate.
The grand-prize winner will receive a weekend stay at the Big Idaho Potato Hotel.
Participants can create a photo, carousel or video featuring an Idahoan product as the main dish and share it on Instagram or TikTok.

On Instagram, entrants must follow @idahoanfoods and @idahopotatoes, tag @idahoanfoods and @idahopotatoes, use the hashtag #DoesItPotato and Participants must also like the designated contest post on Instagram.
On TikTok, participants must follow @idahoanfoods and @idahopotatoesofficial, tag @idahopotatoesofficial and use #DoesItPotato.
The contest is open to legal U.S. residents age 18 and over. Entries must be submitted by Aug. 18 at 11:59 p.m. EST, with winners scheduled to be announced the next day.
The big winner will also win a $500 gift card and a $100 swag bag. Five winners will receive a year’s supply of Idahoan Buttery Homestyle Mashed Potatoes.
