Black Gold Farms taps Mark Knight at COO

Black Gold Farms has hired a new chief operating officer to help implement its “Farm Better Strategy.”

Mark Knight assumes the role as Black Gold Farms COO after 23 years at AgReserves, where he held a variety of administrative and operational leadership roles. Knight grew up on a Washington state potato farm and has been in agriculture most of his life.

His transition to Black Gold Farms started in February.

“We are very excited to welcome Knight to our executive team,” said Eric Halverson, CEO, Black Gold Farms. “He brings a rich history of farm success and will be a great role model for our employees and vendors who encounter him.”

This role will implement the company’s Farm Better Strategy by carrying out operational plans that “meet the strategic needs of the business and exceed customer’s expectations,” the company announced. It requires strong leadership skills.

“I am thrilled to be part of the Black Gold Farms team,” he said. “My entire career — and life —has been spent in the agriculture industry, and I look forward to continuing that tradition by growing along with the Black Gold Farms mission to Farm Better.”

Black Gold Farms has potato production operations throughout the Midwest and Southeast U.S.
