Black Gold Farms names industry veteran new CFO

North Dakota-headquartered Black Gold Farms, a global potato production and packing operation, has named a new chief financial officer.

Heath Webber brings more than 30 years of finance experience, including 10 as a CFO, to his new role. At Black Gold Farms, he will manage accounting, finance, budgeting, and reporting functions in addition to overseeing information technology, human resources and benefits.

“I’m grateful for the opportunity to work with Black Gold Farms,” Webber said in a news release. “I have lived in the greater Grand Forks area a long time and have always held the company in high regard. It’s a privilege to be part of the organization’s strategic direction moving forward.”

Webber most recently served as CFO at PS Industries Inc. in Grand Forks. He holds a bachelor’s degree in accountancy from the University of North Dakota and a master’s in business administration from the University of Mary.

Webber succeeds Bob Hoffert, retiring after 30 years with Black Gold Farms.

“Heath brings a wealth of knowledge, and we’re so glad to have him on the team,” Black Gold Farms CEO Eric Halverson said. “Stepping into a role such as this can bring certain pressures, and Heath has continued to impress us all.”

Founded as a 10-acre potato farm in North Dakota’s Red River Valley more than 80 years ago, Black Gold Farms now has production farms and packing facilities throughout the U.S.

The company’s products include red potatoes, chips and sweet potatoes.
