Ag World Golf Classic raises funds for charity

Columbia Basin area businesses and golfers turned out in numbers for the 3rd Annual Ag World Golf Classic on June 13, at the Canyon Lakes Golf Course in Kennewick, Washington. The event helped to raise $64,813 for the Ronald McDonald House Spokane to support the house’s mission to provide temporary housing to families whose children are facing a medical crisis. This benefit attracted 93 business sponsors and donors and 108 golfers, including six platinum sponsors: 3 Rivers Potato Services, Agri-Stor Northwest, Oregon Potato Co., Integrity Ag, Suberizer, Inc. and Ag World Support Systems.

All golfers who participated in the tournament were given a tee gift bag and a tournament hat. The tournament kicked off with a contest for participating potato growers with prizes from Syngenta and Agri-Stor Northwest given away totaling over $3,000. Participants were also treated to lunch, snacks and contests on the course provided by Lydig Construction, Suberizer, Inc., McCurley Business Elite, Lithia Auto, Washington Ag Network, and the Ronald McDonald House. Ronald McDonald made a special appearance, with each team having their picture taken with him.

The event concluded with awards, door prizes and a make-your-own sundae bar. Four lucky golfers won the chance to sink a hole-in-one for $50,000; though no golfer won the prize.
